Many insurance companies are now requiring homeowners to have their roof washed before renewing their Homeowners policy or even canceling unless washed. We have heard of a 30 day requirement in some cases.
Why? A roof with black streaks or moss in addition to being an eyesore signals neglect and lack of maintenance.
Solution: Call Vesta Wash and we will explain our process and provide a quote. We can wash roof once weather permits…above 45 degrees and not too windy. Check with the insurance company to see if a signed contract is acceptable to delay cancellation due to weather.
Vesta Wash is not a roofing contractor. We do not repair roofs and we can not provide any type of certification about roof performance. We recommend the roof be maintained by following the shingle manufacturer’s recommendations.
We have had a huge increase in phone calls from homeowners requesting a roof wash. Usually, we are told the reason is they are tired of looking at a dirty roof, but in the last couple of months, the reason is that the insurance company is requiring the roof to be washed or else the homeowner policy will be cancelled or not renewed. We have seen 30 day notices.
